This is an AMV for an anime titled Perfect Blue. I saw one (this one? not sure) back in the early oughts, was shocked, horrified, and pretty interested. Having a terabyte drive fearing the end of all you can eat internets, I've been downloading more stuff than I could watch in a month, Perfect Blue being on the list. So right before bed, instead of porn, I put on this horror movie anime, just to see if it's interesting, you know? Just see how it starts.
An hour and a half later, and I'm out here blogging about it.
It's good. I couldn't stop the movie, even though I was tired. Creepy, intense, and not really the best thing right before bed. So I'm out here talking to you, making love to an open window.
If psychological thriller-type anime sounds like something you might even be vaguely interested in, don't watch the AMV, go watch the anime. If you don't care, check out the video. Really excellent work here.
Hurm. Want nice dreams. Back to googling Liz Leia.

Bullets at 1,000,000 frames per second
Amazing.
When I was younger I used to watch a cartoon called Robotech, in the opening credits these mile-long alien space ships would be getting cored by space lasers and would explode from the inside, bursting like overripe fruit, and splattering all over the solar system. I always thought it was just crazy anime science fiction, until I saw this. At about 5:13, you see ballistic gelatin being exploded by rifle rounds, and I saw a childhood of badly dubbed VHS tapes from in that moment.
Specifically, 1:16 here. Can Japanese animators see at a million frames a second?
I see that clip in my head a lot.
Just don't tell my doctor.

Halo Anime!
So I've been on a bit of a Halo kick lately, Googing up action figures, daydreaming about space battles, thinking about picking up the books... There are even some cool Halo Lego-knockoffs that I'll probably end up getting if I manage to avoid all the financial responsibilities in my life. Now this. My god, I might even end up playing the video game.
