15 best albums - - without thinking too hard.

The rules: Don't take too long to think about it. (As close to) twelve albums you've heard that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes. Tag fifteen friends, including me, because I'm interested in seeing what albums my friends choose. (To do this, go to your Notes tab on your profile page, paste rules in a new note, cast your fifteen picks, and tag people in the note-- upper right hand side.)

These are in no order, nor are they absolute. Playing by their rules.

Here are my rules: Only one album per band, list your favorite song, and your favorite line from that song.

1) Master Of Puppets - Metallica - Master Of Puppets -

Master! Master! /
Master of Puppets I'm pulling your strings /
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams /
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing /
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream /
Master /
Master

2) Short Bus - Filter - Under

(unknown)
this is mine
this is my world
this is mine

3) Songs For The Deaf - Queens Of The Stone Age - A Song For The Deaf

Sweet, soft, and low /
I will poison you all

4) Dirt - Alice In Chains - Junkhead

What's my drug of choice? /
Well, what have you got?

5) Angel Dust - Faith No More - Midlife Crisis

Go on and wring my neck /
Like when a rag gets wet

6) Rubberneck - Toadies - Tyler

I find a window in the kitchen, and I let myself in /
Rummage through the refrigerator, find myself a beer /
I can't believe I'm really here, and she's lying in that bed /
I can almost feel her touch, and her anxious breath /

I stumble in the hallway /
outside the bedroom door /
I hear her call out to me /
I hear the fear in her voice /
She pulls the covers tighter /
I press against the door /

I will be with her tonight!

7) In Utero - Nirvana - Radio Friendly Unit Shifter

Hate, hate your enemies /
And save, save your friends /
Find, find your place /
Speak, speak the truth

8) Superunknown - Soundgarden - Head Down

We hear you cry /
We hear you wail /
We steal that smile from your face

9) Ragnarok - GWAR - Surf Of Syn

Cardinal Syn has come to free us /
Source of power: CYBER -FETUS!

10) Lateralus - Tool - Parabol / Parabola

This body holding me /
Reminds me of my own mortality /
Embrace this moment, remember /
We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion

11) Weezer - Weezer - The World Has Turned And Left Me Here.

The world has turned and left me here /
Just where I was before you appeared /
And in your place an empty space /
Has filled the void behind my face

12) Absolution - Muse -

Breathe in deep, and cleanse away our sins
And we'll pray that there's no God
To punish us and make a fuss

13) The Great Southern Trendkill - Pantera - Floods

Wash away us all/
take us with the floods

14) Symphony No. 9 in E Minor "From the New World" - Antonin Dvorak - 4th Movement

15) Dummy - Portishead - Wandering Star

Please could you stay awhile to share my grief /
For its such a lovely day /
To have to always feel this way"

The Song of the Count.

Star Warshammer 40,000

Oh yes. Yes, yes, yes. Nice to know that folks out there nerdier than me are still being awesome.

Now here's some funtastic fanboy fervor as to which Emperor's reign will remain.

SHOTGUN CROSSBOW

The greatest weapon for killing vampires this side of the sun. Ash would be jealous.

Maybe the hottest thing I've ever seen.

This is cosplay of an Adepta Sororitas, a Sister of Battle from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. If I had to explain that to you, you probably don't understand why my panties are soaked.

Perfect.

This is an AMV for an anime titled Perfect Blue. I saw one (this one? not sure) back in the early oughts, was shocked, horrified, and pretty interested. Having a terabyte drive fearing the end of all you can eat internets, I've been downloading more stuff than I could watch in a month, Perfect Blue being on the list. So right before bed, instead of porn, I put on this horror movie anime, just to see if it's interesting, you know? Just see how it starts.

An hour and a half later, and I'm out here blogging about it.

It's good. I couldn't stop the movie, even though I was tired. Creepy, intense, and not really the best thing right before bed. So I'm out here talking to you, making love to an open window.

If psychological thriller-type anime sounds like something you might even be vaguely interested in, don't watch the AMV, go watch the anime. If you don't care, check out the video. Really excellent work here.

Hurm. Want nice dreams. Back to googling Liz Leia.
